This is the first annual Run-for-the-Roses fundraiser to help raise awareness and assist woman and children that are at
risk.

Nearly everyone has been affected in some way by domestic violence. If not directly, than perhaps indirectly by way of a
sister, cousin, co-worker, best friend, neighbor, etc.

Unfortunately, I know from first hand experience that domestic violence can be right under your nose and you may not
recognize it or know what to do about it if you did see it ... until it's too late. Educating yourself about the signs and what do
to are not just for those being abused, but also for those that care.

Our goal is to raise money so that we can help organizations that can directly assist those at risk and equally important is
to raise the awareness of people at risk and those around them so they can recognize it and encourage them to seek help.
Just the fact that you are reading this, helps our goal of awareness.

Being that this is our first attempt at this, we are confident there are things we can do to improve this event in future years
(besides weather being the obvious choice).
